Aims of the National Park

These were researched by a P4/5 class from Drymen Primary who were working on the National Park as a school project.

The National Park original aims are the top line of text and Drymen Primary's version are underneath:
  • To conserve and enhance the natural and cultural heritage
  • To look after the things around us that are part of our environment and history

  • To promote the sustainable use of the natural resources of the area
  • To use the good things in the National Park carefully- not destroying anything

  • To promote understanding and enjoyment (including enjoyment in the form of recreation) of the special qualities of the area by the public
  • To help people to understand about the National Park and to enjoy themselves in it

  • To promote sustainable social and economic development of the communities of the area
  • To help people who live and work in the National Park to have a good life.
