Linda McKay was appointed to the Board commencing 2 October 2010 until 30 September 2014 and was elected Convener of the National Park Authority on 3 February 2011.

 

Linda is Principal of Forth Valley College and is responsible for the delivery of high quality and cost effective further education services to 18,000 learners across Forth Valley and Central Scotland. She brings significant experience of leading strategic change and is a member of the Scottish Funding Council Skills Committee which advises on priorities for public investment in skills, with a particular interest in workforce development.  Linda works closely with local community partners and local schools to enhance educational opportunity and experience for young learners and has a particular interest in the role the National Park can play in the development of young people.

 

Linda has wide experience of working with partners and stakeholders to shape and deliver public services in Scotland.  She has fulfilled a number of national and local governance roles as Governor of the Scottish Police College and independent member of the Police Advisory Board for Scotland, Chair of the Scottish Qualifications Authority Advisory Council, Vice Chair of Scottish Enterprise Forth Valley and member of the East of Scotland Advisory Board for Scottish Enterprise.

 

As an enthusiastic walker, swimmer, bird watcher and photographer Linda is a regular user of the special environment and facilities of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.
