Natural Heritage Grant Scheme
The Natural Heritage Grant
Scheme is a grant scheme for businesses (including land managers),
organisations and community or voluntary groups to help deliver the National
Park Authority’s priorities of Conservation, Visitor Experience and Rural
Development.
The main aims of the
Scheme are to conserve and enhance the Park's natural heritage and to promote
understanding and enjoyment of its special qualities.
For further details about the Scheme, please download the Explanatory Notes
The
Scheme was originally developed through the National Park’s Land Use Initiative
and funded by the National Park Authority and Scottish Natural Heritage from
2007 to March 2010, and solely by the National Park Authority thereafter. For a summary of projects funded and completed click here.
So we can build on its previous successes, the
National Park Authority are continuing the Natural Heritage Grant Scheme in
2011/2012, albeit with a limited budget. We are prioritising projects that will
benefit the natural heritage or landscape of the Park, be deliverable during
2011/2012 (i.e. by March 2012) and are based on well-considered and thorough
applications. These priority projects will either be practical, or planning or
feasibility stages to help applicants prepare larger funding bids. We will continue
to consider good quality applications for other types of project, but emphasise
that our priorities are as above.
In all cases, we recommend that
potential applicants make early contact with our Grant Scheme Administrator
(contact details below). Prior to submitting an application, we may ask you to
provide us with some basic information about your proposal (using the form
below) so we can give you quick feedback on whether or not your project meets
our priorities.
