Listed Buildings
Listed buildings
are designated for their special architectural and historical interest. To
merit designation the property must satisfy set criteria, prepared by Historic
Scotland, which distinguishes their significance.
Where are Listed Buildings in the Park?
There are 563 buildings or structures listed in the National Park and they
range from castles to small cottages and piers to aqueducts. The National Park
Authority holds the list of buildings and structures which are scheduled or listed
within the National Park. You can also search
the Historic Scotland website for information on a listed building or we can advise you whether or not your
property is listed.
Historic Scotland
publishes a general leaflet called Scotland's
Listed Buildings, for Owners and Occupiers. This is an informal account of
the legislation protecting Scotland's
historic buildings, describing how it is administered by Historic Scotland.

it is a Category ‘A’ or ‘B’ listed building we will consult Historic Scotland.
Where the building is a Category ‘C’(s) listed building we will consult our
