Pre Application Advice
Local Development - Pre Application Advice
Before making an application to the National
Park Authority, you may find it helpful to submit details of your proposal for
initial comment from our planning staff.
To make an enquiry you must submit the following basic
information:
- The address of the property
- A written description of your proposal, in the form of a letter or an email
- A site plan at a scale of not less than 1:2500, or a plan marked with clear metric measurements
- If you propose building works, a sketch of the proposal, to scale or with metric measurements (height, width, length, distance from boundaries etc)
- If you propose a change of use, details of the existing and proposed uses; and
- Photographs and any other additional information that will help our planning officers provide the best advice that they can
If
you require further information then please read our advice leaflet on how to make an enquiry. We have also prepared a householder
enquiry form and a non-householder enquiry form to help you set out the above
information and to help us process it.
Otherwise we will accept enquiries by post or email using the
following details:

Major and National Development – Pre Application Consultations
All
applications for National or Major development require the developer
to undertake a Pre Application Consultation with communities and stakeholders.
A developer can contact the National Park Authority for
a screening opinion where we would advice whether the development is
categorised as National, Major or Local and whether a Pre Application
Consultation is required. Further guidance on the process can be found here.
