All Abilities Activities: On land

There are many paths in the National Park that provide particularly good opportunities for the less able or those looking for easy gradients and smooth surfaces in a variety of scenic locations, here are just a few examples:
 

Callander Meadows Riverside Paths

A short circular route with a tarmac surface leaving from the Meadows car park. This takes in sections of National Cycle Route 7 for those looking for a longer path. Gates are all two way opening and wide enough for wheelchairs, buggies and horses.
 

Luss VillagePaths

In particular the riverside path from the village centre out along Luss Water and returning along the old Luss road. To download a copy of the Luss Village Paths leaflet click here.
 

Firkin Point

Short section of lochside path along the shore of Loch Lomond and forming part of the West Loch Lomond Cycle Path. This route has tarmac surfaces, easy gradients and toilet facilities at the car park start point.
 

Glenbranter Ritual Grove

A Forestry Commission Scotland woodland path amongst mature tall pines in an open forest environment. There are toilet facilities at the car park start point. For more information visit www.forestry.gov.uk.
 

Loch Katrine

Starting at the Trossachs Pier, the lochside track is tarmac and smooth with some steeper gradients further around. It is particularly accessible with the option to hire motorised buggies for an easier ride. Glen Ogle

Start at Lochearnhead or Killin for this ramble on National Cycle Route 7, mainly on former railway tracks and including the scenic viaduct in Glen Ogle. Full details at the Walking on WheelsTrust website. 

 

National Cycle Route 7

This cycle route has a number of particularly accessible sections. The off road parts at Callander, Strathyre south, Kingshouse north and Glenogle south offer some challenging distances with good gradients.
